We wanted to get your attention! Many people have questions about the investment for their portraits and whether they can afford professional custom photography. I wanted to answer that here.
The investment in your portraits is broken down into two parts. The first part is the session fee. The $150 session fee allows me to take the time necessary to create portraits of your child that you'll love. Your session fee includes an on-location session, up to 1.5 hours of photography and up to 2 clothing changes. Also included is your premiere presentation. We'll meet at my residential gallery and view the images I've created for you. At this time, you'll be able to select your favorites and choose the images you wish to own. Your order will be placed at this presentation.
The second part of your portrait investment are the actual portraits. Collections start at $350 and go up from there. Most of my clients invest between $350 and $800 for wall art and gift sized portraits.
Please spend some time reading their testimonials.
HOW LONG DOES A PORTRAIT SESSION TAKE?
Some children may be shy, some outgoing. Establishing rapport and getting the child to relax is key to creating portraits for you. I have found that somewhere around the 30 minute mark, children finally settle down and allow me to photograph them as they truly are. That is, they aren't grinning for the camera or responding to "say cheese." This is when those natural, timeless moments happen. Sessions are at least 30 minutes long and have been known to go as long as 90 minutes, if the child or children feel comfortable around me and aren't tired, sleepy or hungry.
IF I DON'T WANT PORTRAITS TAKEN IN MY HOME, WHAT OPTIONS DO I HAVE?
Photographing in a child's home makes it easier on the parents (think feeding them, changing them or having access to their favorite blanket or toy). However, my philosophy about this is very simple -- the child's comfort level is paramount. A location where she or he feels like they can be themselves is more important than physically being at home. So, we could photograph at a park or in a public setting that the child is familiar.
IS THERE A SESSION FEE? WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Yes. The creative fee is $150 includes the photographic session and one presentation. A week or so after your session, the images will have been edited and ready for you to view. You are invited to my home studio for a sight and sound presentation of your images. This is when you will have the opportunity to order wall and gift prints.
HOW WILL I SEE MY PHOTOGRAPHS?
Your photographs will be presented to you in a sight and sound presentation at my home studio. Youll have an opportunity to see a variety of wall piece and gift items. As only one presentation is included with your session fee, we ask that you bring anyone with you who will be assisting in your portrait selection. This is when you will be viewing the images, selecting those you wish to have in your home or for gifts. Payment is required when you place your order.
CAN I GET DIGITAL FILES FROM MY SESSION?
Your digital files aren't available. And, here's why: Industry-wide photographers are eager to give you the digital files. What they aren't telling you is that those images aren't enhanced or retouched in any way. Every single image that is ordered as a print in my studio is enhanced and retouched before they are submitted to a professional lab this ensures you the best quality imagery for your home and that the portraits of your children come alive. If you schedule an in-person pre-session consultation, I'll be happy to show you some samples.
HOW MUCH CAN I EXPECT TO SPEND ON PRINTS FROM MY SESSION?
We have a wide variety of collections and photographic art for you to select from. Our collections start at $135. Most of our clients invest between $300 and $600 for wall décor and gift prints. Prints are available a la carte if you prefer.
